According to preliminary data from the Bulgarian National Bankpresented by Economy Minister Bogdan Bogdanov during a meeting with representatives of Bulgarian, British and international companies in the country, foreign direct investments (FDI) in Bulgaria in the first nine months of 2023. have reached a record 3.1 billion euros.
This represents an increase of about 50% or over 1 billion euros compared to the same period last year, with this growth being the largest in the last 15 years.
Despite the recession in Western Europe, the Bulgarian economy continues to grow by nearly 2%, ranking in the top 5 of the EU in terms of economic growth in the third quarter. Minister Bogdanov emphasized that the country provides significant opportunities for development, becoming a hub for innovation and production with high added value.
The minister announced the development of an investment portal that will facilitate potential investors with information on prepared industrial sites and the labor market. This portal will unify administrative processes and implement best practices from the European Commission.
