Voting will be held in the municipality of Vidin on June 9 in 120 polling stations in the elections for members of the European Parliament and for the National Assembly, a reporter reported “Focus”. It is news that for the upcoming vote, the eight electoral sections in Vidin’s Roma quarter “Nov Pat” are being moved to the city’s borders. Such a move is happening for the first time in recent democratic years.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Vidin, Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov, issued an order for the formation of 120 polling stations (SEC) on the territory of the Municipality. In the city of Vidin, the number of SIKs is 79, and in the populated areas of the Municipality – 41. Their numbering, scope and address of the SIKs have also been confirmed, specified by the Municipality of Vidin. Eight sections – with numbers from 65 to 75 and SIC No. 80, which in all the elections held so far were housed in the “Episkop Sofroniy Vrachanski” elementary school on the territory of the Roma quarter “Nov Pat”, will be moved to other areas of the city of Vidin , the order reads. The new allocation is made in order for voters to make their choice without interference and manipulation, to prevent cyber attacks and data security violations during the elections, the mayor’s office said.

In the last local elections in these sections there were scandals, manipulation of the vote and beating of a member of the SEC.

In the next week, no later than April 24, 2024, with an administrative act, the mayor Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov will determine the places for announcing the voter lists, and by April 29, 2024, they will be announced according to the SIK.
