On 21.04.2024, the XXXII conference of the Association of German Language Teachers in Bulgaria, hosted by the Deutsche Schule, ended. The event took place under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Bulgaria, and this year’s theme was “Motivation in German language classes”. For three days, German language teachers from the country and abroad listened to lectures and participated in trainings on the subject to improve themselves.

On 19.04.2024, in the “Europe” hall, “Friedrich Schiller” Supper opened the conference with a festive program. The guests of honor at the event were the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ruse Zlatomyra Stefanova, Antonia Bierbaumer, Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Sofia, the Head of the RUO – Ruse Dr. Rositsa Georgieva, the Chief German Language Expert at the MES Ekaterina Altonkova, the Chairman of the Elias Canetti International Society Prof. Dr. Penka Angelova, Irina Martynova – Language Courses and Exams Officer at the Goethe Institute, Jacqueline Dybala, Maximilian Döhner and Christian Haas from the German Academic Exchange Service, Bernd Buchholz – Coordinator for Bulgaria at the Central Office for School Affairs Abroad, Sofia and Sibile Shabanska – coordinator for Bulgaria at the Central Office for School Affairs Abroad, Burgas.

Hosts of the congratulatory concert were Kristina Petkova from XI B class and Valeri Neev from XII B class. Christina and Valery told the guests about the school with a 140-year history, about the anniversary celebrations that took place under the patronage of the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, about the study of foreign languages ​​and about the language diplomas that the students of SUPNE “Friedrich Schiller” have the opportunity to receive, for the diverse cultural life and various extracurricular activities of the school, for the participation in various projects and for the success of the students in the fields of education, art and sports, to which the undeniably qualified teachers of the Deutsche Schule have a contribution. Kristina and Valery introduced the guests of the event to their hometown Ruse – a city with rich economic development, cultural traditions and aristocratic spirit. The good mood of the event was ensured by the vocal groups “Accelerando” and “Sempre Piu” under the direction of Mrs. Julieta Ivanova, pedagogical advisor, with the songs “Fuchs, du hast die Gans gestohlen” and “Happiness”. The students of the 2nd grade under the guidance of Mrs. Stella Benova performed the dance “Liebe Schwester, tanz mit mir”. The vocal group of Mrs. Albena Ancheva greeted the guests with the song “Yovano, Jovanke”, Desislava Vasileva, a student of XI B grade and a performer at the vocal studio for pop and jazz “Ikonomov” performed the song “Wir leben laut”, and the quartet “Pristas” – “Lila Wolken”. The dancers from the dance studio “Impuls” under the direction of Mrs. Petya Boneva greeted with the dance “Dance”, and the Sports Dance Club “Nastroenie” under the direction of the Despotovi family with the waltz “On the Quiet Son Danube” by Johann Strauss. The program ended with a performance by the fourth graders under the direction of Mrs. Marieta Georgieva with the song “So ein schöner Tag!”.

Anel Abdi, a student of Class XII B, took care of the sound. Indispensable assistants were Izel Kamberova and Daria Dimitrova from XI A class, Mrs. Desislava Koleva and Beisun Ahmed, ABD.

The management of the school expresses its gratitude to all the participants in the event and to their teachers.
