In their weakest game since the beginning of the year, the “Montana” team lost ingloriously with 1:3 against “Belasitsa” (Petrich).
With what was shown in the match, it was not clear who was chasing a return to the elite and who was fighting tooth and nail for his survival in professional football.
Both teams accepted the game in the middle of the field without taking any unnecessary risks. The first accurate shot on goal was registered in the 13th minute, but Frank Landry’s shot did not hinder goalkeeper Zachary Dimitrov. Ten minutes later, Marijan Vangelov intercepted a cross from the right, but wide of the goal. Shortly after, Anton Tungarov shot diagonally, but a defender knocked it out for a corner. The visitors took the lead in the 37th minute, after a quick counterattack, which ended with an unsaveable shot in the lower left corner by Vasil Bozhinov. Until the end of the half, the hosts did not create a clear position in the panel of their opponent.
The head coach of “Montana” Nikolay Mitov made three changes at the break, but his team was shocked in the 49th minute. Dimitar Ivanov was taken behind the defense of the home team, lied to the goalkeeper and sent the ball into his net for the second time. Montanci exerted some sort of pressure and in the 62nd minute were awarded the right to take a penalty after Kevin Bemanga was fouled in the penalty area. From the penalty spot, captain Dimitar Burov did not leave any chance for the goalkeeper.
In the 67th minute, “Montana” remained with 10 people on the field. Kostadin Iliev stopped the breakaway Zapro Dinev at the edge of the penalty area and the head referee Dimitar Dimitrov showed him a straight red card. Here, it seems the game is over. The players of the guests accepted the game in their half and relied on lightning counterattacks, in one of which Zapro Dinev found himself alone against the goalkeeper, but Simeonov saved. However, in the last minute of regular time, Andon Gushterov, who entered as a reserve, did not forgive his former team and shaped the final result.
