A round table on the topic “The heritage of Sliven – captivating and multifaceted” will take place today at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the “Sliven” hall, the press center of the municipality announced.
The forum is within the project of the same name under the “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” Program with the support of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
As BTA wrote, the project is worth about BGN 540,000 and its purpose is to preserve and popularize Sliven’s cultural heritage in the diversity of ethnic groups. The activities include the renovation of cultural institutes, among which the “Uzunova House” of the Dimitar Dobrovich Art Gallery, where the exhibition spaces will be refreshed and renewed. A ramp for wheelchairs will be built in the Dr. Simeon Tabakov Regional History Museum, which will give access to the first floor of the building – a cultural monument. Multimedia and a screen will be installed in the “Sliven” hall, the lobbies will be equipped as spaces for temporary exhibitions, meetings with authors, book presentations and other cultural events .
Exhibitions dedicated to the cultural heritage of the Jewish community in the city, the culture and traditions of the Karakachan community were presented, a meeting-discussion took place with maestro Georgi Kalaidjiev, winner of the “Dobri Chintulov” award and an honorary citizen of Sliven.
In today’s round table, Dora Chaneva, expert in the “Education, Culture and Public Relations” Directorate of the Municipality of Sliven and project manager, Teodora Nedyalkova, curator at the Regional Historical Museum “Dr. Simeon Tabakov” – Sliven, will present their reports on the topic “The archaeological heritage of Sliven – unknown and exciting”; Victoria Mikhneva, curator at RIM – Sliven on the topic “The objects of the Regional History Museum – Sliven”; Karolin Kapitanova, curator at the “Dimitar Dobrovich” Art Gallery – Sliven on the topic “Following the footsteps of the Orphan Wanderer – life destiny and creative manifestations”, Maya Ivanova, head of the Tuida fortress – Sliven with “Living history – a way to valorize the cultural heritage” and Toni Dimitrova, head of the branch Museum of the Textile Industry with a report “The textile industrial cultural heritage of Sliven”.
