In Vidinsko there are already ripe strawberries in April.
This is clear from photos from readers in “Meteo Balkans”.
“Strawberries are already ripening in April,” writes a resident of Vidinsko.
From Skutare in southern Bulgaria they also indicate that there are ripe strawberries there as well.
Ripe strawberries are also reported in the village of Chervena Voda, Rusensko.
The strawberry season starts at the end of May and lasts until mid-August.
Even the earliest varieties allow picking ripe fruits from the second ten days of May.
The comments under the photos are curious:
“Until the middle of May, the price will still be the same as last year and more than last year ~ BGN 5-6 per 2 kg pantyhose. And Bulgarian… aromatic and mild… wait for the middle of May…”
