In order to prevent the spread of the bird flu disease, etc. “bird flu” in the Montana region, the sale of birds at animal markets is suspended.

This became clear after the meeting held by the regional governor Ivaylo Antonov of the permanent epizootic commission.

As measures to limit the disease, it is forbidden to release birds on the streets of populated areas, as well as a ban on gathering birds and breeding waterfowl in one place.

Until April 26, mayors of municipalities and settlements must put informational materials on the disease “bird flu” in public and take the necessary measures to prevent infection and its spread among birds.

The police will carry out control and inspection for unregulated transportation of birds as well as the sale of such birds at the animal markets in the district. At the moment, there is no registered outbreak of bird flu in Montansko, BNR reports.
