We will try to ensure a long sports calendar of events in Burgas – until Nikulden, announced the Deputy Mayor for Sports and Tourism of the Municipality of Burgas

“My goal is to turn Burgas into the sports capital of Bulgaria.” This was announced in the Flagman.bg podcast by the Deputy Mayor for Sports and Tourism Manol Todorov.

In F Studio, he noted that the interest in holding sports events in the city is serious, and from now on the sports calendar is full until the end of the summer. The ambitions are to have events of national and international rank by Nicholas Day.

One of the most anticipated events will be at the end of August, when the popular chain for MMA sports Brave, which is in the top 5 of global promotional companies, is expected to visit Burgas.

Manol Todorov revealed for the first time to Flagman.bg that they are working hard to solve the serious problem of the lack of a city stadium.

“The impossible has been done in the last few months to see how to untie this knot. The most serious chance is for “Chernomorets” station. I think we could have a pretty good city stadium with adjacent pitches and a base that would generally solve the problems of several sports clubs. I hope that within a few months we will have development, we as a team in the administration are working hard to make this happen,” said Manol Todorov.

Regarding the “Tourism” resort, Todorov indicated that he expects a strong season, and reservations are currently 30% higher than last year. The municipality provides a varied program during the summer months, and the themed weekends will start this week with the camper festival and end in the second half of September.

In the active season, many memorable festivals and the visit of top stars are expected, announced Todorov.

“Lenny Kravitz’s guest appearance in Burgas is something the promoters have been trying to do for a long time. Lenny Kravitz is of an extremely high level and will put Sea Station on the map of the world’s biggest stars. I think he will drag his feet,” added Manol Todorov, who has been the deputy mayor of Burgas since November of this year. – immediately after the local elections.

Manol Todorov is 39 years old, he has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Burgas Free University, and in 2011 he also obtained a diploma for completing “Sports Analysis and Management” in Munich, Germany. He worked as a sports analyst at PSFC “Chernomorets”, was the director of the “Public Relations” department of “Neftokhimik” during their last participation in the elite, and from 2018 to 2023 he was the brand manager of a major tourism brand. He is also a long-time coordinator of the SOS-Road Traffic Association and road safety has been one of his causes for years.

In 2019, he took his first steps in politics. Then he was a candidate from the civil quota in the lists of the DBG, and in the following 4 years he became one of the most active municipal councilors. He was a constructive opposition, and with his reasoned and clear positions he won the respect of the majority and the administration. It is no coincidence that four years later, Manol Todorov was invited to become the deputy mayor of Burgas.

In recent years, he has practically managed to build himself up for politics. He became part of the “Bulgarian Rise” PP, took an active part in several votes, built structures and established himself as a natural leader.
