More than 10 poachers were caught near the “Koprinka” dam in just one week. Despite the ban, they used speedboats to enter and cast nets. Some of the poachers were extremely aggressive and it came to the intervention of police patrols, who were even threatened.

He pointed out that in one of the situations, an offender tried to run over a police officer in order to escape. A chase ensued and later uniformed officers apprehended the poachers.

According to Valentin from the Central Fish Conservation Organization, the protection of the dam is done with extremely modern equipment. “There’s a thermal camera, a drone and people who can respond immediately,” he said.
