From “The Left!” are in talks with Prof. Yanko Yanev to be the leader of the list in Pleven for the early parliamentary elections on June 9. This was announced at a press conference today at the National Press Club of BTA in Pleven, regional coordinator of the coalition, Ivan Mandinski.
“Prof. Yanev holds prestigious international positions related to nuclear energy, one of which is the vice-chairman of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency. With this application, we want to declare the commitment of the “Left” to the energy security and independence of Bulgaria and to give a sign to the people of Pleven to resume the construction of the Belene Nuclear Power Plant, Mandinski stressed.
The leader of the PP ABV Rumen Petkov added that Prof. Yanev is “an exceptional capacity in the energy sector with huge merits for the construction of the Kozloduy NPP, a person with a clear vision of the technological way to realize “Belene”. Prof. Yanev is expected to be a part from the list of the “Left” and for the European Parliament elections.
Petkov added that from “The Left!” will make a strong election campaign, addressed to the Bulgarian citizens, but with clear commitments in the Bulgarian institutions, in the European Parliament and the European institutions.
Ivan Mandinski also said that they will do their best to present a complete list of candidates for the National Assembly from the Pleven region.
