The municipality of Blagoevgrad and “BalBok Engineering” JSC are organizing a campaign to collect hazardous waste from households, “Focus” reported. It will take place today and tomorrow, and waste will be accepted at a mobile collection point for free delivery.
Today until 12:30 p.m. the mobile point will be on “St. Ivan Rilski” street and “Macedonia” square, next to the Blagoevgrad Chamber Opera building, and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. it will be in the railway station. “Elenovo”, Georgi Andreychin Street, in the area of the parking lot in front of the supermarket.
Tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. you will be able to find the mobile point at St. Dimitar Solunski Blvd. No. 26, in the parking area in front of the hypermarket and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the city center. Residents can deliver the following types of waste free of charge:
– contaminated packaging – packaging containing residues of hazardous substances or contaminated with hazardous substances;
– Expired drugs – cytotoxic and cytostatic medicinal products;
-mercury and mercury-containing devices – mercury thermometers, fluorescent tubes and other mercury-containing waste;
– household preparations and chemicals containing dangerous substances – cleaning preparations, disinfectants, bleach, preparations for plant protection and pest control, acids, bases, reagents, photographic chemicals and mixtures;
-varnishes and painting materials – varnishes, paints, polishes, paint solvents and thinners, turpentine, glues, inks, glues/adhesives and resins containing hazardous substances.
Disposing of hazardous household waste in the general mixed waste stream creates a risk to human health, pollutes the environment and disrupts the normal operation of landfills.
