RIOSV and students from Pazardzhik and Velingrad celebrated Earth Day PZdnes

--

RISW-Pazardzhik was a partner in various initiatives to celebrate the International Earth Day – April 22. This year’s Earth Day theme, Planet Against Plastics, focuses on building a collective commitment to tackle the plastics crisis by reducing production by 60% by 2040 and building a plastic-free future, because recycling alone is not enough.

On the eve of the holiday, RIOSV-Pazardzhik was the guest of children and students from “Veselka” Kindergarten and “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” in the village of Ivaylo.

The children empathized with Floppy’s vicissitudes in a polluted river and understood that in order to keep rivers clean, to keep fish and people from getting sick, we should not throw paper, plastic bags and other waste into the river or even on the ground.

And in order to be friends of nature and the planet, we must collect our waste separately and use less plastic products in our daily life.

During the information campaign, RIOSV-Pazardzhik presented three educational institutions with presses for plastic bottles. In this way, the students, teachers and employees at Vasil Levski Secondary School in Velingrad, Bertold Brecht Secondary School and the Vocational High School of Economics and Management in Pazardzhik will help turn waste into a resource.

RIOSV-Pazardzhik urges “Use less plastics and packaging! We are faced with a choice – Planets Against Plastics!
