The Colodrum project will be The Municipality of Sliven will present the Colodrum renovation project on April 24 – Wednesday. The meeting of Mayor Stefan Radev and municipal specialists with planners, architects, journalists and citizens who are interested in the topic will be held at 1:30 p.m. in hall 105 in the Municipality building.

The revitalization of the existing kolodrum in Sliven aims to provide a multifunctional sports facility for the city, where various cultural and mass events can be held. The idea is to build a 3rd category collodrome according to the categorization of the International Cycling Federation.

The project envisages the renovation of the concrete track with a suitable surface, meeting the modern requirements for training and competitions in track cycling. A service building was designed with the necessary premises for practicing sports and holding international competitions and other events.

It is planned to combine other sports training by building an athletics track, a BMX park with curved ramps, a mini football field, on the terrain of which an ice rink can eventually be built, as well as the possibility of placing stages and a passive screen for a summer cinema.

It is planned to build 1,400 new places, incl. disabled. Zoning of the building has been done, which includes a bicycle club area with a reception, a recreation area with a memorial wall, sanitary facilities, office premises, cash registers, a medical office, changing rooms, sanitary units.

There are several warehouses for equipment and bikes, halls of different capacities, elevators, a buffet area, a fitness area, a bike shop area, a bicycle repair area, a cargo entrance with a ramp accessible from Burgasko Shosse Blvd., pedestrian access The project envisages the construction of three metal canopies, which will be covered by photovoltaic panels.
