“Some people are trying to insinuate that we gathered at the home of Minister Rashkov together with Stefan Dimitrov and Marin Dimitrov. I visited Rashkov, Stefan Dimitrov was not present. I have seen him two or three times, he came to the traffic police…never before,” Tencho Tenev, adviser to former Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and director of the Traffic Police during Boyko Rashkov’s mandate as Minister of the Interior, said on Saturday on Nova TV.
Selfie taken by Stefan Dimitrov himself, however, it not only refutes Tenev’s words, but also proves the extraordinary closeness of the acting MP and former Minister of the Interior Rashkov to the Haskovo cigarette smugglers – father and son Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi.
Here are five facts the selfie reveals:
1. Tencho Tenev, until recently an adviser to former Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, not only knows Stefan Dimitrov, but he and Boyko Rashkov were photographed in the PP-DB MP’s homeat the table, while feasting on a high-alcohol drink, meat delicacies, nuts and at least two types of salad – royal pickle and pickles.
2. It is impossible for Rashkov and Tenev not to know with whom they are at the table. Although, until last week, Boyko Rashkov claimed that Stefan Dimitrov and his father went to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to testify. And about the visit to his home, Rashkov explained that they were brought by the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev. However, Kotsev is not in the new selfie.
3. From the selfie, it is understood that Stefan Dimitrov should be quite close to Rashkov, since together with his friend Tencho Tenev – they eat and drink with the national representative and former interior minister.
4. Stefan Dimitrov’s frequent visits to Rashkov’s home have their own explanation. Last week it became known that Dimitrov is actually a neighbor of Boyko Rashkov. The properties of the two in the expensive “American College” neighborhood of Sofia are estimated in the millions.
5. One more detail proves that Stefan Dimitrov was a frequent visitor to the home of the former Minister of the Interior. It can be seen that in the photo with Tencho Tenev, Rashkov is wearing a blue tie. In photos published earlier on the Internet, in which Stefan Dimitrov is seen presenting a painting to the host, the MP from “PP-DB” is wearing a red tie.
“Stefan’s father, Marin Dimitrov, I saw him only once in front of the traffic police building. He had come to change the damaged front number plate of his car. He said he was from Haskovo and we got talking because we are from the same area. For many years he worked in system, before that I had never met him in Haskovo,” Tencho Tenev said on Saturday.
These statements of Tenev are quite controversial, at least because he is a long-time police chief in Haskovo, while Marin Dimitrov was an associate of the former State Security and former head of the regional “Security” unit at the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Kardzhali.
Saturday’s participation of Tencho Tenev in Nova TV, where the friend of Boyko Rashkov, and apparently also of Stefan Dimitrov, is often invited as a “specialist” in the field of road safety and the obvious discrepancy between claims and reality also show what kind of integrity, or rather the lack of it, the advisors of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov enjoyed.
Certainly, the questions about the closeness of Boyko Rashkov to the father and son Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi, caught in smuggling, multiply with each passing day.
