“Rigoletto” is presented by the Burgas State Opera at the end of May in Vratsa : Konkurent.bg

Orchestra, choir and ballet of the State Opera, Burgas visit Vratsa on May 28 with Rigoletto – an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi. The event takes place in the theater, and ticket prices are BGN 20, 25, 30.
The opera is performed in Italian with Bulgarian subtitles. Conductor is Dimitar Kosev, director Alexander Tekeliev, artist Ivan Popov, choir conductor Alexander Chepanov. Marjan Jovanoski plays the role of the court jester Rigoletto.

Rigoletto premiered on March 11, 1851 at the La Fenice Theatre, Venice. She is a triumphant success. Giuseppe Verdi was applauded after each musical number. The composer himself was satisfied with his music, and in a letter since then shared, “I may never write anything better.” A few months after the premiere in Venice, “Rigoletto” was performed in many Italian and foreign opera centers – Budapest, Prague, London, Vienna. In Bulgaria, “Rigoletto” was staged 69 years after its first public performance – in 1920, conducted by the Russian Moisei Markovich Zlatin.
