At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office – Targovishte, two men accused of committing a theft from a private home remain in custody

At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office – Targovishte, two men aged 49 and 56, brought to

criminal responsibility for having committed the theft of a large sum of money and gold ornaments from a private home, with complicity and using a technical means, remain in custody.

The crime was committed on April 19, 2024, before noon. Y.B. and A.A. broke into a private home, by unlocking the front door with the help of a technical device, and stole a large sum of money in Bulgarian levs and Turkish liras. They also stole gold ornaments. After the assault, the two drove off in an unknown direction by car.

As a result of quick actions taken by employees of the OD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Targovishte, Y.B. and A.A. were detained at the entrance to the city of Varna. During a search of the passenger car in which they were traveling, 5,810 BGN and 2,715 Turkish liras, as well as gold jewelry, were found. The two are accused of a crime under Art. 195, para. 1, item 4 of the Criminal Code and are detained for a period of up to 72 hours by decree of the prosecutor overseeing the case with a view to bringing them to court for the determination of a pretrial detention measure. Today it was determined that they will suffer the most severe measure – detention.

The decisions of the District Court – Targovishte are subject to appeal before the District Court in the city.
