“Bulgaria turns out to be a country where you can make your dreams come true,” said BTA General Director Kiril Valchev at the launch of LIK magazine, dedicated to Space. The event was held in the “MaxiM” hall of the BTA.

For the first time, we will try to present the new issue of “LIC” magazine in all BTA press clubs in the country and abroad – with a simultaneous connection in 29 press clubs in the country, in Sofia and six press clubs abroad, he said. Among the guests of the event in the “Maxim” hall were the mayor of Lovech Strazimir Petkov, Yordanka Chobanov – head of the European Commission’s representation, the ambassador of India to Bulgaria Sanjay Rana and the executive director of the Indian national news agency Press Trust of India (PTI – Press Trust of India) Vijay Joshi.

According to Kiril Valchev, this event is not only to present the magazine, but also a great achievement of Bulgaria. He said that in 2017, together with his then 13-year-old daughter, he went to send off cosmonauts from Baikonur – where Georgi Ivanov took off. There were many Italians in the group of senders. When his daughter asked them if they knew that Bulgaria was the sixth nation to send a man into space, they initially laughed and couldn’t believe it. According to Kiril Valchev, this played a big role in his daughter choosing to stay in Bulgaria and fulfill her dreams here.

In Baikonur there is a forest where the cosmonauts planted trees. And from this it can be seen that there is no forest with one tree. Therefore, according to the general director of BTA, cooperation is also important when we talk about cosmonautics.

This issue of LIK magazine will also be published in English, announced Kiril Valchev. He recalled that the magazine is distributed free of charge in paper form in libraries and institutions. It can be seen in an electronic version on the BTA website, and in about a month, the biggest connoisseurs will be able to buy it on paper.

The general director of BTA also announced the next issue of the magazine, which will be published in May. It will be dedicated to the Bulgarian science of Antarctica – for the second voyage and the 32nd Bulgarian Antarctic expedition. Bulgaria has a base in Antarctica in Livingstone, he noted. This issue will also be published in English and Spanish, Valchev said.
