“Little Red Riding Hood” and Aesop’s Fables are read by Deputy Mayor Gergana Icheva at “Otets Paisii” NU : Vestnik Zname

PAZARDJIK. The thirteenth edition of the campaign to promote children’s reading “Walk of Books”, organized by the “Bulgarian Book” Association in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Bulgarian Library and Information Association, aimed at increasing children’s interest in reading and books, took place in the period from 02 to 23 April 2024.

Within the framework of the campaign, various initiatives were held in “Father Paisiy” NU, Pazardzhik, one of them being “Celebrities read to children”.

A guest at our school was Gergana Icheva – Deputy Mayor in charge of “Social Activities and Health Care” in Pazardzhik Municipality. She read her favorite children’s story “Little Red Riding Hood” by the Brothers Grimm, and the little first graders showed that they are already literate.

The meeting with the third grade students began with a conversation and questions that they had prepared. Their interest was provoked by the position, which also holds the role of mayor and deputy mayor in our city. Mrs. Icheva read them part of Aesop’s Fables – these short stories with an instructive ending – funny, sad and wise, they remember for a lifetime.

All students received a gift book by selected Bulgarian and international authors.
