The picture is frightening – confiscation of the cars and a 24-hour stay in the detention center does not scare them

For another day, the police report is full of cases of drivers caught driving under the influence of drugs

For another day, the police chronicle of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Burgas is full of cases of drivers caught driving after using narcotic substances. The picture is frightening and apparently the measures that the police have introduced do not deter the offending drivers at all. Although they may end up without a car or pay its equivalent price to the state, as well as spend 24 hours in custody, the sanctions against drugged and drunk drivers only have an effect on police statistics, but clearly have no educational value for those sitting behind the wheel.

Thinking that they are immortal, the offending drivers use various types of drugs – benzodiazepine, amphetamine, pico and cannabis are only some of the narcotic substances that the drivers in the Burgas region have been caught with in the last two days. Each of these substances is psychoactive and does not allow the driver to make a real assessment of the situation in which he is on the road. They act on the central nervous system and even just a second of exposure can lead to a fatal accident with injuries or death on the road.

It is also worth noting that the vehicle does not matter. Whether it’s a car or a truck, it’s never clear if the driver behind the wheel is adequate.
