The Administrative Court in Pleven extended the time for the recount of the ballots from the last Municipal Council elections. The municipality must ensure video surveillance and recording of the counting, which is also currently carried out by three experts.

The case arose at the end of last year after the local elections, when 19 complaints against the decision of the OIC, which announced the name composition of the Municipal Council and the number of preferences of each of the candidates who participated in the elections, were combined in one case. Now all the ballots are being counted, more than 90 have been counted so far and about 70 remain. Judge Daniela Dilova, who is also the chairman of the AC in the city:

“In order to ensure the transparency of the activities of the experts, the court ordered the Municipality of Pleven to provide video surveillance of the hall where the ballots are counted, as well as to prepare a video recording, as it ordered the experts when finding invalid ballots or incorrectly counted ballots the same to be shown on a screen to all interested parties who are present in the hall”.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 14.
