Lovech Municipality approved six projects from the “Culture” fund

Six projects have been approved for financing by the Culture Municipal Fund for 2024, the municipality reports. They are at the association “Kluch” for the National Choir Festival “Panayot and Lyubomir Pipkovi”, at the People’s Community Center “Izkustvo – 2022” for “Puppets in Action and Tales from the Gramophone” – art for children and adults, at the Club of Culture Workers for Art salon “Bridges 2024”, of the association “Architectural Reserve Staro Stefanovo – ISVOTE” – “New life for Staro Stefanovo”, of the People’s Community Center “Zornitsa 2010 – Neno Shtregarski” for the VII National Folklore Festival “Lilyakova Ruchenitsa” and of the People’s Community Center “Enlightenment – 1906.” – Doirentsi village – “Doirentsi sings and dances in memory of Bogdan Krachunov”.

A total of nine project proposals were submitted. The expert council of the Municipal Fund “Culture” examined and evaluated the accepted projects, applying the criteria listed in the evaluation card. The applicant project proposals were evaluated individually by each member of the Expert Council. Financial corrections were made to five projects.

The allocated amount for financing the approved project proposals is the full amount available to the Culture Fund – BGN 10,000.

At a meeting of the permanent composition of the Expert Council, held on January 25, the priority areas for 2024 were determined: preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, including – electronicization of cultural and historical sites in the city; professional art; knowledge through art; implementation of programs and projects for the protection and promotion of movable cultural heritage.

The fund supports the development of culture in the municipality of Lovech by raising, managing and spending funds for the implementation of the national and municipal policy in the field of culture based on pre-defined priority areas within a calendar year.

Cultural institutes registered under the Law on the Development and Protection of Culture, community centers registered under the Law on People’s Community Centers, educational institutions, creative unions, as well as citizens and groups with individual creative projects can apply to receive funds from the Fund. Funds from the “Culture” Municipal Fund are provided for a ranked project based on a concluded contract, and the amount of financial support for a project is no more than 80% of its total value.
