President Rumen Radev has scheduled the elections for municipal councilors in Haskovo by decree for June 23.
The vote was canceled due to violations found in a large number of CECs in Haskovo and an unnaturally high number of invalid ballots.
Thus, the result was appealed in court by the political formations “We are coming”, “BSP for Bulgaria”, “VMRO-Bulgarian National Movement”, “Vazrazhdane”, “Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” and “Bulgaria of the Regions”.
The Administrative Court in Haskovo (HAS) counted the vote.
After that, the decision of HAS was appealed by GERB and the municipal councilor Delyan Delchev.
However, the Supreme Administrative Court ruled in favor of the first instance court.
Thus, Haskovo citizens will vote in three elections within the month of June.
On the 9th, they will vote for MEPs and people’s representatives in the National Assembly.
And on June 23 for municipal councilors.
