The municipal council gave a chance for the construction of a school in Kraimorie, so as not to enter into a spiral with the state

The municipal council made its contribution to the construction of a new school in Kraimorie by voting unanimously on the proposal of the mayor Dimitar Nikolov to approve a preliminary consent for the transfer of an establishment to PC “Narkop”, located on the selected site for the construction, and to compensate the consumer cooperative with building right on municipal property.

“Those councilors who were in the previous Municipal Council remember that the Municipality started a procedure for preparing a PUP and construction of a building in the field, which is determined by the General Development Plan for a school. This field is located next door, but it is owned by the state through a commercial company of the Ministry of Education. We started a year and a half ago a series of administrative files and meetings both in the Ministry, in the Regional Administration and in the Municipality of Burgas, but in any case, this commercial company that operates the camps did not find the appropriate form to transfer the property to the Municipality of Burgas , to start building a school. We offered everything – exchange, purchase, leased building rights, including land lease, but the complex legal constraints of this commercial company stood in the way. We were forced to look for this non-standard solution. If it were not for the cooperation of the consumer cooperative, we would not have been ready to build a new building, and we would have entered into a complex procedure of expropriation for several years on other private grounds, including this one. In the old days, as the richer people gathered and separated from their properties to build churches, schools, community centers, now in a way, a little romantically, but in a certain sense, this desire is returning. If it wasn’t for the school building, no one would have assisted us because it is about other commercial and investment intentions. Let’s count it. If we do not make this decision, we will enter a spiral of legal impossibility to start building a school. We have no other such suitable terrain. Unfortunately, the land that was earmarked 20-30 years ago for a school is state owned and we cannot acquire it. If some of you become people’s representatives, they may help us in this case”, said the mayor Dimitar Nikolov.

The motives of the Municipality of Burgas to build a new school are that Kraymorie has been a district of Burgas since 1987, which in recent years has become an attractive and rapidly developing area, given its proximity to the city and its natural features. There is no built and functioning school in the neighborhood, and there are no other existing educational institutions nearby, and this undoubtedly creates transportation and time inconveniences for both parents and students.

At the moment, over 80 children from the neighborhood from first to seventh grade have to attend educational institutions mainly in the Central Community College of the city of Burgas, given that the neighborhood is an adjacent area and the closest educational institutions are precisely in the Central Community College, which further deepens the problems. related to the lack of vacancies in schools in this part of the city. On the other hand, the schools in the CGCH are already at full capacity, and there is a need to open additional classes. The opening of a new school in an area with a lack of educational infrastructure will create suitable conditions for the education of children from Kraimorie district, will relieve the busy capacity of schools in the CGCH and at the same time will contribute to avoiding the existing inconvenience for students and parents related to transport from and to to the educational institutions.
