H and for the first time in our country the use of a telephone will lead to penalties for pedestrians.
This will happen if Parliament accepts draft amendments proposed by the Council of Ministers, which will mean they will no longer be allowed to speak on it while crossing.
Prohibition
When crossing the traffic lane, pedestrians are obliged to cross the pedestrian paths and cannot use a mobile phone, it is written in the draft texts. The range of distractions is also extended to include any other mobile communication device or other distraction.

Pedestrians, according to a special text, are obliged not to unnecessarily extend the road and crossing time, as well as not to stop unnecessarily on the traffic lane. For the newly introduced violation of pedestrians, the general amount of the fine for this type of road users remains in force – BGN 20. The aim is to prevent the distraction of pedestrians in a dangerous situation.
The draft changes also introduce a ban on cyclists handling phones and tablets while riding. Until now, such a ban existed only for drivers of electric scooters. For both groups, the obligation to get off the vehicle and cross the zebra crossing on their own is introduced. The goal is to avoid cases where they suddenly jump out in front of the cars on the lane.
Golden
Changes are introduced for the so-called a golden ticket, which is earned by all drivers who have no traffic violations for 6 years. By virtue of the abolition of the blue paper coupon, the gold one also goes into history and becomes digital. Champions without infringements will now be noted on the National Register of Drivers and their infringements and penalties.

They will not have checkpoints deducted if caught in violation, unless the offense is one that is legally disqualifying or a misdemeanor. In the event of a violation, the digital golden ticket will be deleted, and the drivers will be leveled with everyone else – with 37 points.
