The prosecutor’s office is investigating the case of Rositsa Doinova

A seamstress from Gorna Oryahovitsa claims that she is subjected to systematic mental harassment at her workplace.

Rositsa Doinova says that she has even received death threats over the phone.

“The pressure against me has been going on for five years now. I’m about 6 months away from retirement and my coworkers keep pestering me to quit. The saga began after a colleague came up with the idea to spread the slander that I had a mental illness. Other women from the company joined the campaign. However, the situation was becoming increasingly intolerable. I am forced to endure insults and causeless scandals. I was even pushed down the stairs,” Doinova declares.

The victim adds that she is bullied, that she is mentally ill and that she is raging at her workplace.

“I have never suffered from a mental illness, I have no such diagnosis, nor have I been treated. I only have a health problem with my eyes and I had an operation,” says Rositsa Doinova.

The Gornoryakhov woman says that she has filed several complaints with different authorities.

“Three letters reached the head of the company where I work. I had sent them by registered mail with a return receipt by “Bulgarian Post”, they were registered as received, but there was no response from the management. I turned to the Labor Inspectorate for assistance, and from there they advised me to seek help from the prosecutor’s office. In the reports to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gorna Oryahovitsa, I have provided phone numbers with the date and time when I was harassed by unknown numbers on the phone at night with death threats. The persons I named were only summoned and warned, and that was the end of it. My only hope remained the media,” says Rositsa Doinova.

Police in the railway town confirmed they had been working on two of her complaints since February last year. The collected materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office. However, no pre-trial proceedings were initiated in the case, because the state prosecution considered that there was not enough evidence of a crime committed.

According to Rositsa Doinova, however, the psychological bullying of her continues.
