For many years they wanted to withdraw the training of water rescuers from the Bulgarian Red Cross. This was said by Hristo Grigorov, chairman of the BCHK, who attended the presentation of the academy’s program at the International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films in Varna.
He expressed the hope that the companies that will issue certificates are professional and do not do it for commercial purposes only, so that it does not happen that the drowning person has to save the lifeguard. He reminded that in addition to pulling people out of the sea, rescuers also provide medical assistance on the shore.
Thus, Grigorov commented on the changes in the Ordinance on water rescue activities, which allows the training of water rescuers from other training institutions.
The Bulgarian Red Cross continues to provide assistance to elderly people living alone and to families in difficult situations. This is our main mission, said Grigorov.
