Prosecutor Kirilova: Petar Petrov-Evroto intended to pour acid on me – Court and Prosecutor’s Office

It would be difficult to understand where the photos of the former chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev, came from. The leak itself violates investigative secrecy. At the moment we have not self-reported this, personally I think it will be very difficult to understand how this information was leaked. This was stated by the city prosecutor of Sofia, Iliana Kirilova, in the program “This Morning”.

“This is a question that has been on the agenda for a long time and cannot be answered unequivocally. The materials in the case go through many people. Secondly, when a case comes to court, the lawyers have the right to familiarize themselves with the materials in the case. Too it’s unpleasant, especially for the prosecutor’s office, since it’s becoming a trend, which, viewed from the side, is rightly believed to be the goal of somehow smearing these people. The prosecutor’s office has no task to smear anyone,” the city prosecutor also noted .

According to her, there is a smearing of certain personalities and she agreed that it is not good to release secret information. “The role of the former chief secretary in the organized criminal group, and whether there is any at all, is yet to be clarified. At the moment, he is being charged precisely for this. The prosecutor’s office has some clarity as to what exactly Kotsev did, but the information cannot be disclosed to the media. About 50 people have been questioned so far, but more interrogations are to come,” she explained.

Kirilova clarified that she has known Kotsev since 1994.

Nikolina Angelkova does not recognize herself in the photos with Zhivko Kotsev. A personal examination is pending, noted Kirilova.

Petar Petrov-Euroto had the intention of dousing me with acid, Iliana Kirilova said. “I don’t feel threatened,” she added.

She confirmed that Boyko Rashkov and Asen Vasilev are being questioned. He added that he could say whether charges would be brought against them.
