Glavchev accepted the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs and replaced the permanent secretary of the department – Bulgaria

--

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Kondov, will become acting Deputy Foreign Minister. And his post in the department will be taken by the former acting minister in Stefan Yanev’s office – Svetlan Stoev. This is clear from the announcement of the Council of Ministers regarding Dimitar Glavchev’s acceptance of Stefan Dimitrov’s position.

Kondov has been the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2021. For a month at the end of Galab Donev’s second office, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This became necessary because the then Minister Nikolay Milkov was appointed by the official cabinet as ambassador of Bulgaria to NATO. He then returned to his post as Permanent Secretary. Before that, Kondov was the ambassador of Bulgaria to Spain, permanent representative of our country at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, political attaché in London, etc. Kondov is also the person on whom the Ministry of Foreign Affairs relies for the conduct of elections abroad. Svetlan Stoev, who will now take the position of permanent secretary in the ministry, was the ambassador of Bulgaria to Denmark until recently. He also headed our missions in Sweden and Germany. And in the two official offices of Stefan Yanev, he was the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
