A new cultural project, entitled “Tarnovo guitars v 1.0”, was launched in V. Tarnovo. This is a joint project of the association “Youth for the Development of Lyaskovets” and the Youth Center in the old capital, which is co-financed by the Municipality with BGN 2,334. The aim is to develop the skills of young artists and performers in classical guitar, providing them with the opportunity to perform in the cultural program of V. Tarnovo, supporting the attraction of audiences to cultural events in the region. The events of the project are completely free for all participants.
On May 11 and 12, a two-day classical guitar master class will be held at the Youth Center with 20 young people aged 13 to 29. It will be led by Prof. Dr. Stella Miteva-Dinkova and Kostadin Dinkov – teachers of classical guitar in Plovdiv. After completing the training, a concert will be held under the title “With a guitar in the park”, which will take place on May 12 at 6 pm in front of the Summer Theater in Marno Pole Park. In it, the participants of the master class will show what they have learned in front of an audience.
“The expected results of this project are first of all to start a new cultural project in V. Tarnovo. The idea is that this first part will continue in the following years”, said Krasin Karakotsev, who is the head of the project.
The master class is only and only for 20 people, who can apply until May 2 entirely digitally on the website http://vtguitars.weebly.com, and only young people selected by the teachers will join the training, explained Nikolay Petrov from the “Youth” association for the development of Lyaskovets”. At the end, they will receive a diploma-certificate for the completed course. Anyone who wishes can attend the master class and the concert as a spectator, added Petrov. “Our idea is to turn this into a festival and I am almost sure that we can find funding from several places”, he said and explained that similar events are organized in Pernik, Plovdiv, Pleven, Varna and Gabrovo.
The classical guitar is the queen of all guitars. There are many composers who write works for her. The instrument itself is also developing and ones with a louder sound are being made”, said Valentin Simeonov, guitar teacher at the Youth Home – Veliko Tarnovo.
