Mark Kyurkchiev won a prize for “Best Business Idea”
Kyustendil student Mark Kyurkchiev from the 12th “a” grade, majoring in “Economic Informatics” at PGIM “Yordan Zahariev” took part in the national round of the National Entrepreneurship Competition “Best Business Idea”. This year, the competition was held at PDTG “D. Hadjivasilev” – Svishtov. The head of Mark is the teacher of entrepreneurship Dilyana Boeva.
Twenty-four innovative business ideas of students from vocational high schools of economics in the country were ranked for participation. Among them was Mark’s idea – a feeder for homeless dogs “Help for dogs in need”.
Participants in the national round were randomly assigned to six teams. For three hours they worked on the topic “Traditional Bulgarian products – heritage and innovations”. The teams proposed interesting ideas related to the country’s traditions and heritage – Bulgarian needlework created by artificial intelligence, use of natural products such as dyes in hair dyes, Bulgarian rose oil and residues from its production, etc.
The ideas of the teams were evaluated by a jury, in which representatives of the “Entrepreneurship” department at UNSS, RUO Veliko Tarnovo, business and the municipality of Svishtov participated.
Mark’s team developed and defended an idea related to the use of cherry stems as a raw material for the production of tea, which, according to folk medicine, has a soothing effect on kidney diseases and other health problems. The jury placed the idea in second place in the team ranking.
For his performance, Mark received a medal, a certificate of participation and many gifts. And the UNSS recognizes the grade excellent /6.00/ for the application in the “Entrepreneurship” specialty, reports with satisfaction from PGIM “Yordan Zahariev”.
