In response to a query of Plovdiv24.bg regarding the serious incident in front of the restaurant “Yuzhen polah” in Plovdiv, the prosecutor’s office informs the following:
“Forensic medical and auto technical expertise will be appointed in the case to establish the mechanism and method of causing the bodily injury to the woman.
She was initially taken to hospital, where officers were told she was not seriously injured, but was left for observation at the hospital.
A fast-track case was established and a charge of drink-driving was brought. The next day, temporary medical documents were issued stating that the woman had an injured vertebra.
Immediately in the District Prosecutor’s Office-Plovdiv, the expedited proceedings were converted into pre-trial proceedings for a traffic accident and assigned for investigation by an investigating police officer from the “Transport Crimes” sector at the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs-Plovdiv.
After the issuance of final medical documents with the exact diagnosis of the injured woman in the pre-trial proceedings, forensic medical and auto technical expertise will be appointed to establish the mechanism and manner of causing the bodily injury.
The supervising prosecutor, after getting acquainted with the conclusion of the two examinations, will take an opinion on the possible filing of charges for causing bodily harm”.
