The Easter table is more expensive this year, according to data from the Agricultural Market Information System. If last year the Easter menu for a family of 4 cost BGN 158.24, this year BGN 162.27 is needed. The highest prices are in Lovech and Montana, where the market costs an average of over 167 BGN, and the least will be paid in Burgas – 151 BGN.

The market includes 2 kg of lamb shoulder, 1 kg of kozunak, 20 eggs, 1 kg of lamb trifles for breadcrumbs, rice, bread, vegetables for salad, as well as a bottle of red wine, brandy and soft drink.

The price of lamb shoulder ranges from BGN 30 in Montana and Plovdiv to BGN 21.50 in Burgas. In Sofia, a kilogram of lamb is sold for 26 BGN, and in Haskovo for 24 BGN.

For comparison, in 2023, lamb went from BGN 21.50 per kg to BGN 26.50 per kg, with the highest price again in Plovdiv and Montana, and the lowest in Burgas.

Three BGN is enough for the difference in the price of kosunak in different areas. It is the lowest in Haskovo – BGN 9.14, and the highest in Varna and Sofia, where a kilogram of the dough costs BGN 12 per kg. This year, however, kozunak is cheaper than last year, when the mass price was over BGN 11 per kg.

There are also big differences in the prices of eggs. For example, in Blagoevgrad 20 pieces can be bought for BGN 8.80 or BGN 0.44 each, while in Lovech they will cost you BGN 13 or BGN 0.65 each.

A kilogram of tomatoes for Easter can be bought from BGN 3.79 in Lovech to BGN 4.68 in Blagoevgrad.

The price of cucumbers sold in the markets is slightly lower, from BGN 3.05 per kg in Varna to BGN 4.65 per kg in Ruse, Pariteni.bg calculated. Both vegetables are much cheaper than last year, when tomatoes cost over 5 leva in Plovdiv, and the price of cucumbers was from 3.80 to 5.25 leva per kg.
