1,755 motor vehicles have been tagged on the territory of the Metropolitan Municipality, which meet the criteria for an end-of-life motor vehicle, reported the Metropolitan Municipality. This is reported by the commission’s data from teams of the Metropolitan Inspectorate and employees of the relevant regional administrations on the territory of the Metropolitan Municipality.

There is a three-month warning period for these cars, in which they must take action to move or their owners must hand them in for recycling themselves. If after this period measures are not taken to voluntarily remove the cars, forced repatriation is started, which is carried out at disassembly sites. A large proportion of the identified cars do not have Sofia registration, which is not, however, a prerequisite for delaying the procedure. It applies in the same way to all identified end-of-life vehicles, regardless of registration. 160 cars were forcibly moved to disassembly sites during the same reporting period. The largest number of stuck and moved unusable cars are in the regions: “Lyulin”, “Krasno selo”, “Mladost”, “Izgrev”, “Iskar”, ” Slatina” and “Ilinden”.

We remind the owners of these vehicles not to wait for the administrative measure, but to initiate the relocation of the vehicles themselves. Abandoned in public places, cars often interfere with communal cleanliness activities, the free passage of pedestrians or become objects of pollution.
