Students from the first grade at “St. Cyril and Methodius” SU visited the “Star Center” library branch to participate in the Reading Marathon and celebrate the book festival. The already literate first graders (soon also registered readers) read the fairy tale “Kose Bose and the Fox” in sequence, and the librarians introduced them to the Request of the Book. The inquisitive children promised to follow the recommendations in it and left happy with the gift of handmade book dividers.
Volunteer scouts joined the initiative of the Children’s Department “Today, I am a librarian!”. It was interesting for the young people to understand the “subtleties” of the library profession, which includes not only a strict arrangement of library funds and materials, but also polite service to readers, combined with understanding and development of reader demand, as well as organizing thematic cultural events. For the “Venture” scouts from the “Rhodopski Scout” club, this is another visit to the Children’s Department, where they have been doing voluntary work since the beginning of February.
