The exhibition is entitled “I weave and braid threads, I weave joy and sadness” and shows a lesser-known and mysterious world – the different types of magic practiced by our ancestors, the hosts from the Regional History Museum in Targovishte announced.
“I weave and interweave threads, I interweave joy and sadness” (Magic and magic in Bulgarian folk culture) will transport art lovers to a lesser-known and mysterious world. It presents the different types of magic practiced by our ancestors.
Magic accompanies people’s weekdays and holidays and makes them feel more secure in tomorrow. It is a set of actions and rituals done with the belief that through certain means and ways, a person is able to influence his fellow humans, animals and nature. It is owned by people associated with supernatural forces: herbalist, sorceress, harlot, sorceress. The Shepherd is also one of them. They affect life and death differently. These wise people use knowledge either for good and help, or ruled by dark forces, can harm.
The exhibition of REM – Plovdiv weaves and interweaves joy and sadness with wishes for luck, prosperity and health. Our magical path of knowledge about the beliefs of our ancestors is colorful and is an amulet that protects against all evil. The superstitions about different spells are wonderful – how to shoot down the moon, turn a person into an animal, protect ourselves from a dragon or make a loved one fall in love with us…
The magic of the Bulgarian is in the strength of his spirit, which has overcome centuries of trials, and in his beliefs, which have stood the test of time.
