The municipality of Kardzhali lost yet another case against a woman from Kardzhali who was bitten by a stray dog. The district court ruled that the Municipality of Kardzhali should pay M.A.Z. compensation for non-property damages in the amount of BGN 6,000 caused by inaction.

On 01.06.2023 M.A.Z. passes along the Passageway to the “Vazrozhdentsi” district. He meets a family on the bridge who occasionally bring several pet dogs. They are followed by a stray dog. During the breakup, the homeless man returns and, for no reason, bites the little girl on the left lower leg. The woman tried to defend herself. Passers-by chased the attacker and called 112. A CSMP team and police officers arrived. The wounds were treated in the hospital. The police are opening a pre-trial proceeding.

The Municipality of Kardzhali rejects the claim, arguing that the stray dog ​​was not the attacker. In addition, the Municipality has signed a contract to reduce the population of stray animals.

The magistrates also ruled that the Municipality of Kardzhali should reimburse BGN 290 in expenses in the case of M.A.Z., as well as pay BGN 350 in state fees.
