Criminal investigators seized over 100 artifacts and a metal detector from an address in the village of Pleven Directions Pleven

The police seized 118 objects resembling cultural and historical values. Ancient objects and a metal detector were found yesterday during a search of an address in the village of Chomakovtsi.

The procedural and investigative actions have been carried out by employees from the “Criminal Crime Countermeasures” sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications – Pleven and their colleagues from the Koinare branch in the course of a specialized operation. On the basis of Article 83 of the Ministry of Interior, an inspection was carried out at the home of a 42-year-old man.

Many ancient objects were found in the house – rings, coins, fibulae, spearheads and other items resembling cultural-historical values ​​and representing archaeological sites, as well as one metal detector. They have not been identified and registered in the relevant order in the Regional History Museum – Pleven.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. Appointment of forensic archaeological examination of the seized material evidence, which will determine what part of the objects are archaeological cultural values ​​within the meaning of the Law on Cultural Heritage, their exact dating and their value. The work continues an investigating police officer.
