Sahara came to Plovdiv: Yellow dust sprinkled the cars

--

Sprinkled with yellow dust, the cars in Plovdiv dawned this morning, Plovdiv residents signaled. “My car is a strange yellowish color and dusty. Apparently, the rain has brought something,” warns “Maritsa” reader Nadia Mateeva. She said that the entire terrace of her home is also yellow.

A check by “Maritsa” found that in the synoptic forecast of NIMH, meteorologists warned of the presence in the atmosphere of an increased concentration of Saharan dust in the eastern part of the country, which apparently also affected the central ones in the transfer of air masses.

As of 8:30 a.m. today, the two automatic stations in the city reported good air conditions in Plovdiv. This is clear from the website of the Municipality of Plovdiv.

This is not a precedent nor a dangerous phenomenon. We also observed this in mid-March this year, when a strong Mediterranean cyclone positioned over Italy brought yellow-colored rain to the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

Sunny weather will prevail over most of the country today. In the morning hours, there will be considerable low cloudiness, and after noon it will develop cumulus and cumulus-rainy, NIMH reports. Short-term rain will fall in some places, mainly in the mountainous regions. There will also be thunder. A light to moderate wind will blow from the west-northwest, which will temporarily shift from the southwest. Maximum temperatures will be between 19° and 24°, in Sofia – around 20°. In Plovdiv, the thermometer will show up to 22 degrees, it will be mostly sunny.

There will be partly cloudy skies in the mountains and short-lived rain mainly around and after noon.
