Scale models of airplanes, dioramas and photographs presents the exhibition “Toward the Sky” in Veliko Tarnovo

--

Scale models of airplanes, dioramas and photographs are presented by the exhibition “Toward the Sky” in Veliko Tarnovo, the Regional History Museum announced. The exhibition was created in cooperation with “Manta Model Club” and National Society “Tradition” – Veliko Tarnovo, and is dedicated to the creation and development of Bulgarian aviation. The name is borrowed from one of the first aviation newspapers in Bulgaria. In these two words lies the charge that made the Bulgarian realize the dream of the mythical master Manol to make wings and rise with them to the sun, the organizers pointed out.
Photographs and facsimiles of documents related to the development of aviation and aircraft construction in our country will be presented on twenty boards. The photos are from the archives of Dr. Simeon Tsvetkov, Nikolay Gichev, Teodor Muhovski, Leko Gerginski, Petar Stefanov, Ivan Nikolov, Venelin Pastarmadzhiev, “Krile” magazine, Pan.bg, DVIA Veliko Tarnovo, “Kam Zeebo” newspaper.
Display cases will display uniforms, awards, tools, photographs and manuals related to aviation. Models and dioramas of airplanes that flew with Bulgarian identification marks over the years are a highlight of the exposition. The models were made by modelers from all over the country over the course of a year. They are in 1/72 and 1/48 scale.
The exhibition will be opened on May 8 in the “Rafael Mihailov” Exhibition Halls and will be open for visits until June 7.
