Municipality of Maritsa with an urgent inspection for the cemetery in Kostievo

An inspection of the signal for the new cemetery park in the village of Kostievo, located literally 10 meters from people’s houses, was ordered. This reported on Plovdiv24.bg Engineer Petar Minkov – Deputy Mayor for Territorial Planning, Municipal Property, Ecology and Cleanliness in “Maritsa” Municipality after our publication Alert: They buried four people 10 meters from our house!

The residents of Kostievo turned to our media for assistance, because no institution has responded to their reports submitted for several months. People believe that the expansion of the cemetery is in violation of the law because it does not meet the health and regulatory requirements for cemetery parks and the transportation of the dead.

“I have given the signal for an inspection to the chief architect. There will be a result in a day or two. There are rules for cemetery parks,” commented the deputy mayor.

A check of Plovdiv24.bg showed that it is regulated that there should be a hygienic-protective zone of 300 meters between the cemetery and the nearest residential districts and public buildings. This zone can exceptionally be reduced with the permission of the Directorate “Health Prevention and State Sanitary Control” (DZPDSK) of the Ministry of Health (MOH). The construction of new residential and public buildings is not allowed in the sanitary protection zone.
