The District Prosecutor’s Office, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the territorial directorate of DANS in Burgas created an interdepartmental unit to counter crimes against the political rights of citizens, the press center of the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The unit will have scope of action until 11.06.2024 – the day after the elections for members of the European Parliament and those for Bulgarian people’s representatives.

The unit will coordinate the work of the formed duty units in the three institutions to ensure full interaction between them. The participants will also exchange information with RIC-Burgas, the prosecutor’s office explained.

The data received from the duty units will be analyzed and summarized in order to achieve maximum countermeasures against the crimes against the political rights of the citizens on the territory of the entire Burgas region, the heads of the three institutions also stated.
