The team of “Neofit Rilski” Primary School showed excellent knowledge at the “Spring Holiday in Geography”. The initiative was held on the occasion of Earth Day in the Ritual Hall of Gabrovo Municipality.
Eight teams from schools in Gabrovo took part in the quiz on the topic “Gabrovo in the geography and history of Bulgaria”. These were “Neofit Rilski” Primary School, “Hristo Botev” Primary School, “Ivan Vazov” Primary School, “Raicho Karolev” Secondary School, “Otets Paisii” Secondary School, National Academy of Sciences, “Dr. Nikola Vasiliadi” PTG and “Pencho Semov” PGT.
The students demonstrated their knowledge of Geography, as well as their attitude to the environmental problems of our planet. The competitive part included questions from different areas of geography, divided into two age categories – grades 5-7 and grades 8-12.
Students who have achieved success in Geography and Economics for the academic year 2022-2023 were awarded, including Andreana Ivanova Koseva, a student from the 7th “B” grade of “Neofit Rilski” Elementary School, for winning second place for a drawing at the APGR competition in May 2023
Prof. Marin Rusev presented certificates on behalf of the Association of Professional Geographers and Regionalists and to the teachers who prepare the students.
Certificates of appreciation for overall contribution to the promotion of geographical science were received by the organizers of the event, namely the mayor, the deputy mayor for education of the city, the chief expert Mrs. Makashelova, the regional and deputy. the regional governor, head of RUO – Gabrovo, the head of the department in RUO and senior expert Mr. Deyan Doinov in Gabrovo and Moya Koleva, director of “Neofit Rilski” Primary School, Gabrovo.
Prizes from the Municipality of Gabrovo, Regional Administration and “Neofit Rilski” Elementary School were awarded to all participants in the quiz. The participants of the celebration had the opportunity to see the ecological documentary film “Sea of the Wind”. The talented students of “Neofit Rilski” Elementary School greeted everyone with musical and dance performances.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Gabrovo, Regional Administration-Gabrovo, Regional Department of Education – Gabrovo, OU “Neofit Rilski” – Gabrovo and the Association of Professional Geographers and Regionalists (APGR) in Gabrovo.
The competitive part included questions from different areas of geography, divided into two age categories – grades 5-7 and grades 8-12. The students showed very good knowledge and even if they were not sure of some answers, they arrived at them through reasoning.
