A Plovdiv resident condemned the RZI to pay him BGN 4,000 for illegal quarantine. The man returned from the USA, and a prescription was immediately issued for him to be placed under a 10-day quarantine. The reason – his arrival from a risk zone of an epidemiological situation in connection with the epidemic of COVID-19.
Before taking the trip, the resident of Plovdiv had a valid covid vaccination certificate, but he did not have a document for a negative result of a test conducted up to 72 hours before entering the country. Due to being placed in isolation for a period of 10 days, he was unable to take a planned vacation. At the same time, he felt his human dignity violated, insulted, indignant, bitter and with his ambition hurt by his illegal quarantine during a full course of vaccination.
He appealed the order in court, which was overturned. After that, he filed a claim for compensation in the amount of BGN 4,000.
The court considers that the isolation was reflected in negative emotions, negative mental experiences, worries, inconvenience, violations in the ability to communicate with relatives and friends whom he had not seen for a long period of time before, inability to carry out his regular sports activities, inability to spend his vacation, inability to promptly renew necessary personal documents, as well as in designing his own home, as well as in his limitation in his socially necessary communication and social contacts.
According to the court decision, RZI will also have to cover his legal fees.
