The Parliament established a Policy Coordination Council for Bulgarians Abroad – Bulgaria

--

The Parliament finally adopted the changes in the Law on Bulgarians living outside Bulgaria. It envisages the creation of a Policy Coordination Council for Bulgarians abroad, which will organize the work of the executive power structures for the implementation of state policy for our communities abroad and synchronize the activities of programs and projects. The new body will have the status of a permanent member of the Council of Ministers, announced the BNR.

Dimcho Dimchev from “Vazrazhdane” stated that such advice is ineffective. “If I ask the ensembles abroad under which authority they are and how much funding they receive, a council is created from one ministry to the other with a KPD close to zero. This will be the body of collective irresponsibility,” commented the deputy. However, Antoaneta Tsoneva from PP-DB defended the changes:

“The country needs a strong coordination mechanism and taking over the management of this policy at the level of the prime minister. It is necessary that the programs to which the budgets are directed in the field of education, culture and the Bulgarian communities near the border – be well synchronized so that this activity can to increase its effectiveness,” she pointed out.
