The Bulgarian ITF Taekwondo national team won 14 gold, 8 silver and 42 bronze medals during the European Championships in Koper, Slovenia, which ended yesterday.

Nationals training camp lasted a month. The championship starts on April 15. 802 competitors from the old continent competed in the prestigious competition. The strong performance of the native athletes gave Bulgaria the third place in the final ranking.

The Etropolis athlete from a taekwondo club “Hua Rang” – Lyubka Petrova, won three bronze medals for Bulgaria in the various disciplines.

In women’s form -1st dan, in the semi-final she lost to Veronika Rozboudova from the Czech Republic and remained in third place.

In the individual discipline of sparring, in the category up to 57 kg., in the semi-final, Lubka defeated the Croatian Gabar Martine, but suffered a loss from the Greek Elisavet Kalkitsa, who became the champion, and the tight girl won bronze.

This is the third Petrova medal won in the team discipline Form. Our representatives lost the competition for gold and silver from the Ukrainian women’s team and remained third in this discipline.

Another citizen of Etropole took part in this important sports forum for our country. Nikolay Petkov won gold in the sparring discipline in the heavyweight category +92 kg. in men.

At the beginning of the year, he left the “Taek-Kion” club, where he began his sports career, and joined the “Falcon” Taekwondo Club – Blagoevgrad.
