On Book Day in the Montana Library, the reading marathon “Montana’s Children Read” began. It is being held for the 19th consecutive year and will last until August 31.
Girls and boys from elementary schools in Montana, in teams of four, participated in the “Environmental Reading” game.
Each team wore different colored hats. The children drew a sealed envelope with the name of a country. They then had to discover its capital by having two “jokers” either use a tablet and Google the information or ask the librarian. The next task was to find the country on the map. Books were arranged on a special shelf, among which students had to find an author born in the respective country.
Anelia Ivanova – Todorova, director of the library, started the game. She read an excerpt from “Little Frog Stories” by Yordan Radichkov.
The game “Environmental reading” ended with a relay reading of excerpts from works by J. Rodari, A. Lindgren, Exupery, Jeff Kinney, Thurbjörn Egner and JK Rowling.
