Advertising is permitted only on billboards and away from schools and sports-related locations

Prohibition of gambling advertising on television, websites and print media.

This is what Temenuzka Petkova from GERB and Yordan Tsonev from DPS propose with changes to the Law on Gambling.

Another proposal to change the law is to have gambling halls only in settlements with more than 5,000 inhabitants.

There are 1,100 gambling halls in our country, which puts us in first place in Europe in terms of this negative indicator, Tsonev pointed out.

Advertising will remain allowed only on billboards and in gyms or sports equipment for example.

The changes also increase the investment that gambling operators seeking a license must make.

The proposals are related to a permanent policy to end gambling addictions in the long term, explained Petkova.

According to her, the proposals are related to the regulation of gambling activities and gambling advertising, as well as the distribution of funds made by gambling operators in connection with their social responsibility.

The distribution of this contribution is intended to be 50% for the Ministry of Health, with the funds being used for the treatment of gambling addictions.
