Residents of the Plovdiv village of Brestovitsa will block the Ring Road of Plovdiv at the cloverleaf for Peshtera in the late afternoon today. Residents of Brestovici go out to protest because of the long-standing problem with drinking water. The mayor of the settlement, Maria Manolova, will also take part in the demonstration, she herself announced Plovdiv24.bg.

“We want to secure funds from the state in order to start the implementation of the projects prepared by the municipality of “Rhodopi” for water supply of Brestovitsa with clean water. I stand behind the people, because the request is fair” – commented Manolova.

About 200 people are expected to join the protest. Transport is provided, which will transport 100 people to the Ring Road, and the rest will arrive on the spot in their private cars.

“This is a peaceful protest, we will put up posters with our demands and stop traffic. We apologize for the inconvenience we will cause, but everyone should understand that water is important in Brestovitsa,” the mayor added.

The convoy will leave at 4 p.m. from the center of Brestovitsa, and for 5 p.m. it is planned to stop traffic on the ring road at the cloverleaf for Peshtera.
