The event at the Jules Paskin Cultural Center was attended by Mayor Tsvetan Tsenkov, municipal councilors, colleagues of arch. Mollov, directors of cultural institutions and others. Mayor Tsenkov expressed his respect for the author for properly evaluating the architecture of Vidin, as well as our history. He emphasized that this exhibition reinforces his positive attitude towards the old capital of Vidin and shared that arch. Mollov has specially prepared for the Municipality a calendar with the most famous sights of the city and the region.
The exhibition is entitled “Architectural heritage of Vidin and the region” and is carried out with the assistance of the Municipality of Vidin. Nearly 40 watercolor paintings are presented, which show the medieval castle “Baba Vida”, the renovated Vidin Synagogue, the cathedral “St. VMC Dimitar Solunski”, Osman Pazvantoglu Mosque, Stambol Kapia and a number of others.
The idea of ​​the exhibition is to provoke interest in architectural monuments, buildings and ensembles that convey the charm of bygone eras, educate and maintain a sense of belonging to the environment in which we live. Each building has its own history and destiny, created by the inspiration of a certain creative person, about which we should know and honor, says the author about his works. Arch. Mollov shared that the greatest experience he had with regard to a monument was at the opening of the renovated Vidin Synagogue.
Arch. Belin Mollov is one of the established artists-architects, with a contribution to the preservation of the architectural memory of Bulgaria. Preferred objects for depiction are iconic Bulgarian houses and places, as well as famous architectural landmarks in Spain, Germany, Romania, Greece and others. He has 55 years of experience in the field of urban planning and urban development.
