Interns, who underwent training at the Center for Specialization and Professional Training in Pazardzhik, took a solemn oath today before joining the guarding of the Bulgarian border.

127 trainees successfully completed their professional training at the Center for Specialization and Vocational Training in Pazardzhik. In the town square, in front of their relatives, they took a solemn oath before joining the ranks of the Border Police DG.

“The work of border police officers is tense and risky, but also a true manifestation of the highest duty to the fatherland. I am convinced that this will motivate you and give you strength in the difficult professional path you have chosen to follow. Be uncompromising in performance to your tasks, because there is no greater pride than the trust to be real guardians of the Motherland”. With these words, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Kalin Stoyanov, welcomed the new border guards. Monitoring and guarding the border, active border control, cooperation with Bulgarian and foreign colleagues are only part of the daily activities for which they were trained during the past months. In this sense, the interior minister emphasized the important role that Bulgaria has as a member of the Schengen area: “We must be able to guarantee to the European countries that we are a reliable partner, that we have the capacity and the will to deal with challenges such as the increased passenger flow, illegal migration, smuggling, terrorism and a number of other risks”. With wishes for determination before the trials, Minister Stoyanov congratulated his new colleagues on what they have achieved so far. “Do not bend in the face of difficulties and always be a worthy example for your fellow citizens,” he ordered them, quoted by the Ministry of the Interior.

The solemn oath of the CSPP trainees at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held in Pazardzhik. The ceremony at Saedinenie Square was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Tony Todorov and the Acting Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Chief Commissioner Dimitar Kangaljiev, the Director of ODMVR – Pazardzhik Senior Commissioner Daniel Lukov and the Rector of AMVR Senior Commissioner Assoc. Dr. Ivan Vidolov. Among the official guests of the event were the regional governor of the Pazardzhik region, Valentina Kaitazova, and the mayor of the municipality, Petar Kulenski.
